Privacy Policy

OneNineteen: Scripture Memory  ·  Effective June 15, 2026

OneNineteen is a scripture memorization app built by Ryan Estupinan. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

1. No Account Required

OneNineteen does not require you to create an account. Your verse library, study progress, and streak data are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.

2. Information Collected

Audio recordings. When you recite a verse, a short audio clip is recorded on your device and sent to OpenAI's Whisper API (via a secure proxy) solely for the purpose of transcribing your speech. The audio is not stored by us and is not retained by OpenAI beyond the transcription request. No audio is linked to your identity.

Bible verse text. When you look up or browse verses in a non-KJV translation, the reference is sent to API.Bible to retrieve verse text. No personal data is included in these requests.

Subscription status. If you subscribe to OneNineteen Plus, your subscription is managed by RevenueCat, which processes your Apple App Store receipt to verify entitlements. RevenueCat receives an anonymized identifier — no payment card details pass through the app.

Local device data. Verse data, recitation history, streak information, and settings are stored on-device using AsyncStorage. This data is not transmitted to us and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Audio is transcribed solely to score your recitation accuracy. It is not stored, analyzed for any other purpose, or used to train AI models.
• Subscription status is used only to unlock Plus features within the app.
• No personal data is sold, shared with advertisers, or used for behavioral tracking.

4. Third-Party Services

• OpenAI — audio transcription via Whisper API. See openai.com/privacy.

• API.Bible — Bible verse content. See scripture.api.bible/privacy.

5. Children's Privacy

OneNineteen is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Data Retention

All verse and progress data lives on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app. We do not maintain any servers that store your personal data.

7. Your Rights

You may delete all app data at any time by uninstalling OneNineteen. For any questions or requests related to your data, contact us at the address below.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be noted with an updated effective date at the top of this page.
